WESLACO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce will host its Annual Awards Program on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Palacio de Destinee starting at 11 a.m.
The event celebrates local businesses, organizations, and individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and made meaningful contributions to the Weslaco community over the past year.
Palacio de Destinee, the venue for the event, has been recognized as the best Venue of the Lower Valley and was named Best of 2023 and 2024 by the Valley Wedding pages. It is conveniently located off the expressway, making it an ideal spot for celebrations.
The awards program will feature several honorees, including Robert "Bobby" Calvillo, who will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award posthumously for his work with Affordable Homes of South Texas. Martin "Marty" Masso of Boots ‘N Jeans Western Wear will be honored as Man of the Year, while Roberta Reyes-Ramos will be recognized as Woman of the Year for her contributions to Palacio de Destinee, Kings Royal Court, and The Garden’s by Palacio.
Smith Security & Fire, led by Daryl Smith and his family, will receive the Business of the Year award, and Friendship Creations LLC, founded by Wennys Dominguez, will be acknowledged with the Rising Star Award.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to receive free professional headshots courtesy of Angel Valdez Photography.
