Week 9: High School Football Team of the Week

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — ValleySportCentral has nominated three high school football teams to claim the title of Team of the Week.

The nominees for Week 9 are McAllen Memorial, Los Fresnos Falcons and Brownsville Porter Cowboys!

The Mustangs beat Vela 31-28. The victory gave McAllen Memorial sole possession of first place in District 16-5A Division I.

The Falcons put on a dominant display in a 30-7 win over Brownsville Veterans. Los Fresnos improved to 8-0 overall and 2-0 in District 32-6A.

The Cowboys won their third game of the season by defeating Lopez, 23-21. Porter is in third place in District 16-5A Division II with a 2-1 record in district play. Carlos Uresti’s team is having a bounce-back season after back-to-back winless campaigns in 2023 and 2024.
