McALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) - The day many fans have been waiting for finally arrived. The two sold-out shows for alt-indie band The Marias had Valley fans waiting in line since the early morning hours of the show dates.
The Marias announced their first McAllen show on April 11 and tickets went on sale on April 18.
The Ticketmaster war hit many fans who were in line for hours waiting to get a ticket for the July 10 show, but they were unfortunate as it sold out in 10 minutes.
Moments following the sold-out show, the band announced a second tour date on July 11, allowing the fans who were not able to obtain tickets for the original date to get the chance to see the band in the second round.
Valley fans, Alexandra Fuentes, Andalees and Toby Fuentes, have waited in line outside the McAllen Convention Center since the early hours for the sold-out Friday show.

Alexandra and Andalees told ValleyCentral she had waited at the convention center since 10 a.m. to reserve her spot in line and make sure she could get the best view in the venue.
"I was on the waitlist for a long time, I tried Thursday, I didn't get it..... and then finally it let me buy one ticket, I said yes, I'm getting it, I don't care how much it is," she said.
Fuentes said he was joined by his brother, sister and boyfriend at the concert, who camped outside the venue since 2:30 p.m.
"We've been here since 2:30 in the afternoon. It's pretty hot, I pray for those who fainted and I hope they are OK," Fuentes said.
Alexandra said that she was not although she was not able to get tickets for the first show, she felt lucky to get tickets for the second show.
Fuentes said he is grateful for his brother getting the tickets and battling the "Ticketmaster war" when at one point the tickets seemed impossible to obtain.
Andalees said bands such as The Marias coming back to the Valley and performing for fans shows a sense of gratitude towards fans.
"[The Marias] came about five or six years ago when they were barely starting out, and I know a lot of people came," Andalees said. "I think it's important that artists that start off small and come to little cities like McAllen and come back, when they are bigger it shows that they stayed and that they are always going to be there for their fans."
Fuentes said bands such as The Marias coming to the Valley that have "Latin pop culture" help other artist be recognized and heard.
"The Marias are big, but there are a lot of underground artists who come here with them, it helps bring a new audience to them, thanks to this band," Fuentes said.
The concert began with special guest Julie, an American nu gaze and rock band, with a 2010 indie Tumblr aesthetic.
The show continued with the main event, The Marias, who had the crowd excited and singing with the intro song Hamptons.
The colors of the concert changed from different hues of blue to oranges, deep yellows and reds.
During their song "Run Your Mouth," the band made a medley of two classics, "Lovefool" and "Care for You," making the whole crowd dance and scream with excitement.
The concert had a mixture of the band's recent album, Submarine, with a hint of the most popular hits, including their cover "Otro atardecer," a song they featured with Bad Bunny, and ended with Cariño.
