MERCEDES, Texas (ValleyCentral)— An ongoing water outage has impacted the City of Mercedes residents.
According to a news release from the City of Mercedes, the city is aware of the ongoing water outage that is impacting several areas in the city.
City officials say the initial estimated time for the water outage to be resolved was at 4 p.m. on Friday; however, an unforeseen burst pipe has extended the timeline for a full restoration.
The Public Works Department is assisting the Drainage District with emergency repairs to help resolve the issue.
The city is providing residents who are in need of showering facilities with access to use of the Dome shelter, located at 1202 N Vermont Ave.
ValleyCentral has reached out to the City of Mercedes city officials for a comment, but has received no response.
