Water interruption extended for South Padre Island residents

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Repairs on an emergency water leak in South Padre Island have been extended to Monday night, according to city officials.

The Laguna Madre Water District announced some areas will be experiencing low water pressure or no water at all.

The affected area will be the east side of Gulf Boulevard from East Saturn to East Gardenia, near Beach Access 14, 15 and 16.

"For the work to be done safely and properly, LMWD will shut down the water system in your area for an extended period of time," the city announced in a press release.

The water interruption has been extended to 11 p.m., the city adds.
