HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — U.S. Navy Sailor Angelina Resendiz has returned home after her body was discovered during a multi-agency search in Virginia.
Resendiz's remains were transferred from Virginia to the Valley International Airport in Harlingen.
She was returned home by military personnel and given military honors.
A search for Resendiz was launched after she was reported missing from Naval Station Norfolk in late May.
The Naval Criminal Investigative Service discovered and identified Resendiz's body on June 10.
A sailor is currently in pre-trial confinement in connection with Resendiz's death.
Charges against the accused sailor are not yet known.
