Veronica Kortan named lone finalist for HCISD Superintendent

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District has announced Veronica Kortan as the lone finalist for Superintendent of Schools.

Kortan was named interim superintendent by the Harlingen Board of Trustees during a special board meeting on May 14, 2023.

Before becoming the Interim Superintendent, Kortan served in various roles such as teacher, principal and Assistant Superintendent for Leadership & Innovation.

She is a Harlingen native and founded the district’s Early College High School in 2007.
