Vehicle found submerged in resaca near San Benito this weekend

SAN BENITO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A vehicle registered in Florida was found submerged in a resaca on Sunday.

Cameron County Sheriff Manuel Trevino told ValleyCentral that on Sunday, a civilian was on ta boat when they saw the vehicle in the resaca and called 911.

The vehicle was found in a resaca off Ratliff Road, south of San Benito. Authorities say the vehicle is registered in Florida and no one was found inside.

The San Benito Police Department and the Cameron County Sheriff's Office were at the scene as the vehicle was being removed from the resaca.

Sheriff Trevino added that the car appeared to have been in the resaca for several days.
