ValleyCentral Team of the Week Winner Week 5: Rio Hondo Bobcats

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The votes are in for Week 5 of ValleyCentral's Team of the Week for Rio Grande Valley high school football.

This week's winner is the Rio Hondo Bobcats.

The Bobcats received 44% of the vote with a total of 812 votes.

In second place, the Mercedes Tigers received 42% of the vote with 789 votes, and the Edinburg Vela SaberCats came in third place with 14% of the vote, or 273 votes.

Last Friday, Rio Hondo beat the Bishop Badgers by a score of 55-20.

The Bobcats will have a bye week on Oct. 3. They travel to Falfurrias on Oct. 10 in a District 16-3A matchup.

Kick off is set for 7 p.m.
