Early voting began Monday, and Valley voters showed up in huge numbers compared to the last constitutional amendment election in 2021.
Voters in Cameron County cast 849 early ballots compared to just 221 on day one of 2021's November early-voting period — a 284% increase in turnout.
Meanwhile, Hidalgo County saw a 7% increase compared to 2021.
