Valley hospice facility accepting donations for annual drive

OLMITO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A hospice facility in the lower Rio Grande Valley is accepting items for its annual donation drive.

Sunshine Haven, located in Olmito, is now accepting general household items and funds that will be used to continue providing end-of-life care to its patients.

"This drive we only do once a year, so everything we receive on Saturday is going to last us about a year, which is great," said Edward Camarillo, Executive Director of Sunshine Haven.

Sunshine Haven is accepting water bottles, laundry detergent, hygiene essentials and bird feed to feed the birds surrounding the facility.

Monetary donations will also be accepted.

The annual drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, at Sunshine Haven, 7105 W Lakeside Blvd. in Olmito.
