UTRGV to take on UTSA next year: Report

EDINBURG, TEXAS (ValleyCentral) - The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley football program is roping in some tougher competition.

FBSchedules.com reports the Vaqueros will take on the University of Texas San Antonio next year.

UTRGV will face the Roadrunners at the Alamodome on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026, according to the website.

The game will be UTRGV's first-ever match against an NCAA Division 1 FBS program.

UTRGV Head Coach Travis Bush is well acquainted with UTSA; he was on the Roadrunners' coaching staff when UTSA started its football program in 2011.
