UTRGV ROTC honors service members at local homecare center

LA FERIA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley ROTC Color Guard honored service members at a local homecare center.

The color guard demonstrated a flag folding ceremony on Friday at the Amable Homecare center to commemorate those who served the U.S. in honor of Memorial Day.

"So we are going to offer that support to the family, this patient and the caregivers, the family members, and offer that recognition, and kind of have their back on this, soldiers or airmen or seamen on their really last fight," said Alicia Henderson, event coordinator for Amable Homecare.

Henderson told ValleyCentral they hope events such as this one can help with the transitions the patients are going through and offer support to their family so they're not alone during this time.
