UTRGV Robert & Janet Vackar Stadium to undergo $20M renovations, additions

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — UTRGV's Robert & Janet Vackar Stadium is scheduled to undergo renovations, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The stadium, located at 1616 S. Raul Longoria Rd., will undergo a $20,000,000 renovation. According to the TDLR, this project involves public funds, public land, or is a federally funded roadway project.

The scope of the work will be locker rooms and press box renovations. In total, 10,500 square feet will be renovated.

Construction is scheduled to be completed on June 30, 2025.

Robert & Janet Vackar Stadium, formerly known as the H-E-B Park in Edinburg, was renamed in March.

The stadium renaming is an homage to the Vackar duo, widely known in the RGV as the owners of the Bert Ogden Auto Group.

UTRGV's inaugural football team will call this stadium home for its 2025 opening season.
