UTRGV officially opens Vaqueros Golf Center in McAllen

MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Athletics and the City of McAllen have officially opened the Vaqueros Golf Center.

The grand opening was held Thursday afternoon at the Champion of Lakes Golf Course.

The Vaqueros Golf Center cost nearly $3 million and features more than 4,200 square feet for locker rooms, two hitting bays, a study lounge, a nutrition station and a viewing area.

The golf course was part of the $85 million construction projects being completed for the University Athletics Department.
