EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's first-ever football game is getting closer. This has been years in the making, and the Vaqueros have officially kicked off their Fall camp.
The players were excited to take the field, knowing game day is right around the corner. There were no pads, but players completed drills, ran plays, and soaked in Texas' hot summer sun.
One position that is of interest to most is the quarterback spot. From practice, it is clear that Eddie Lee Marburger will be the main man at QB for the Vaqueros.
However, that is not the only position that is settled.
“There might be different guys with the 1s tomorrow, so that can evolve through camp, but you know we feel good about most positions probably 60-70 percent of the team based off what we saw this spring now some of that can evolve here in the next three weeks as well,” said Travis Bush UTRGV Football Coach.
Things can change, and there are still positions that need to be settled. That will all happen in the upcoming weeks.
