PROGRESO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The University Interscholastic League (UIL) announced the Progreso High School soccer team has been disqualified from a state playoff game before they were scheduled to play.
The State Executive Committee of the UIL met for an emergency meeting Friday to address rule violations by the soccer team.
During the meeting, it was determined the soccer team allowed an ineligible player to participate.
In result, the Progreso soccer team has to forefit their spot in the Boys Conference 4A Division I State final game.
