CAMERON COUNTY, Texas (ValleyCentral)—The Texas Department of Transportation has issued an update on road conditions in Cameron County following the recent heavy flooding.
In a news release from TxDOT, crews continue to monitor road conditions throughout the Valley. The following is the latest report of state highways across the county.
TxDOT reported that all exit ramps on I-69E northbound and southbound are now open, frontage roads are clear of water and barricades have been moved to the side.
On westbound IH-2 only, the FM 2556 exit ramp remains closed due to standing water. All eastbound ramps are now open with clear frontage roads and the barricades have been moved to the side.
Loop 499 and FM 2520 are clear and open.
TxDOT crews have reported that State Highway 345 and FM 106 in Rio Hondo still have water over the road but are passable to drive.
Stuart Place Road and FM 508, from Goodwin to FM 507, remain closed due to standing water and barricades are still in place.
Floodway on FM 506 remains closed due to rising water. SH 107 in Santa Rosa from FM 506 to the county line remains closed due to standing water. Barricades are still in place.
TxDOT crews continue to work on pothole repairs and debris removal.
