TxDOT: Overnight expressway lane closures scheduled in Mercedes

MERCEDES, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Lane closures in Mercedes are scheduled to begin on Monday night and continue through the rest of the week, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

The work scheduled for Monday will be conducted on the eastbound lanes of Expressway 83, between Mile 2 East Road and the Hidalgo and Cameron County line.

Crews will be working on pavement repairs from 9 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. on Tuesday.

Pavement repairs will continue on Tuesday throughout the week on the westbound lanes of Expressway 83, between the Hidalgo and Cameron County line and Baseline Road.

Road crews will work on the westbound lanes from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. until Friday.

TxDOT asks drivers to honor the Move Over or Slow Down traffic law when road crews are present.
