TxDOT launches 'Be Safe, Drive Smart,'campaign

MISSION, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Texas Department of Transportation is launching its "Be Safe, Drive Smart" campaign.

According to the Texas DOT, there were over half a million crashes in Texas in 2024. More than 4,000 people died in those crashes, and 18,000 resulted in serious injuries. The number one contributing factor was speed.

The campaign will run statewide through Aug 3.
