TxDOT: Jackson Avenue underpass in McAllen closes temporarily

MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Texas Department of Transportation announced a traffic advisory that will close a roadway in McAllen for the remainder of the week.

Starting at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, the Jackson Avenue underpass at Interstate 2 will be temporarily closed through Oct. 27.

Alternate routes will be in place as crews work on drainage improvements in the area, according to TxDOT.

Drivers are asked to stay alert and to slow down in work zone areas.
