Two-vehicle crash involving DPS unit under investigation

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a two-vehicle crash involving a DPS unit.

According to a spokeswoman for DPS, the crash took place at approximately 6:30 p.m. Monday on Highway 4 and FM 511.

A DPS trooper was taken to a local hospital but was released later that same night, DPS said. The occupants of the second vehicle were not taken to the hospital.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
