Two teens charged in pursuit of stolen vehicle

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Two teenagers have been charged in connection with starting a police chase in a stolen vehicle.

The pursuit happened Thursday afternoon in downtown Brownsville and ended at the International Boulevard and East Madison Street intersection.

Daniel Torres, 18, has been charged with:

• Aggravated assault against a public servant
• Evading arrest
• Resisting arrest
• Two counts of theft of a motor vehicle

Torres’ bond was set at $71,500.

Jose Antonio Reyna, 17, was charged with two counts of theft of a motor vehicle.

Torres confessed to a second motor vehicle theft during the investigation, contributing to the additional count of theft for both teenagers.

Reyna was issued a $15,000 bond.
