Two injured after car slides under 18-wheeler near Rancho Viejo

RANCHO VIEJO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A white sedan crashed into the side of a tractor-trailer rig on the expressway near Rancho Viejo and remarkably only suffered minor injuries.

Brownsville fire officials say the accident happened near FM 511 and the northbound lanes of the expressway.

Photos show a silver car crushed under the semi-truck.

Public Information Officer Hector Martinez told ValleyCentral that two people had to be extracted from the vehicle. Both suffered only minor injuries.

Both were taken to Valley Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Traffic on the expressway is being delayed, and motorists are advised to reroute.

The crash is under investigation.
