Two charged in Pharr capital murder investigation

PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Two people were charged with capital murder of a child, according to Hidalgo County Jail Records.

Police responded to the 200 block of East Sam Houston on Sunday about a wellness check, which later led to a death investigation.

Jail records show Karina Ramirez was issued a $3 million bond for the capital murder of a person under 10 years old.

Miguel Ortiz Jr. was issued a $5 million bond for capital murder of a person under 10 years old.

Ortiz was also charged with possession of marijuana and tampering with evidence. His bond totaled approximately $5,026,000.
