Taylor, editor of the Guardian, said he hopes to build on the success of the forum in Brownsville.

Lyudmyla Dickinson

“We have a stellar lineup of speakers for the McAllen forum,” said Taylor. “Andy Garcia, president of Allied Consulting, gave an incredible presentation at our forum in Brownsville. Mila Dickinson has 20 certifications in AI, including AI in Business, AI in Marketing, Prompt Engineering, and AI Optimization. And Dr. Jesús Campos co-chairs the South Texas College Taskforce on Generative Artificial Intelligence.”

Garcia said: “It is clear—our future depends on the decisions our region makes today. Data and AI are transforming our industries, our economies, and our communities. The time to discuss their impact is now.”

Campos said he is excited to be participating in the forum.

Dr. Jesús Campos

“Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) is not a fad. It is here to stay. And it will change the way we work,” Campos predicted.

“While it may replace some jobs, it is more likely to change the tasks we do in our jobs. The hope is that it will help us work more efficiently by helping with certain tasks like proofreading, idea generation, and helping us refine our thinking to name a few.”
