Tropical trouble may be brewing near the RGV later this week

It started out as a basic tropical wave near Central America, over the southwestern Caribbean. Now this simple wave is drawing the interest of the National Hurricane Center.

Right now the NHC places a 20% chance for tropical development like a tropical depression or tropical storm.

Once the tropical low, no matter how well developed it is, comes close to the east coast of Mexico it should push moisture toward the Valley increasing our chance for rain on Friday.

So far the computer models keep the risk of rain fairly light, less than a quarter of an inch. We will need to follow this forecast as any changes could mean more rain for the RGV.
