TROPICAL STORM WARNING extended, gusty winds possible

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — In the most recent update from the National Hurricane Center, Potential Tropical Cyclone One has not been upgraded to a named tropical storm.

The Tropical Storm Warning has been extended further inland to include all of Cameron and Willacy Counties. This means winds could reach 39-57mph over the next 36 hours.

The biggest threat remains flooding. The heaviest rain is forecast to occur from Wednesday morning to Thursday morning. We are at a moderate risk for Excessive Rainfall.

We could receive 5-7 inches of rain in the Upper Valley, and 7-9 inches of rain in the Lower Valley through the weekend.
