PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Drivers have reported being frustrated while driving in the storm due to poor visibility and traction issues.

These slippery roads are already causing accidents and causing even more delays.

One driver is Joseph Mendez, who drives 18-wheelers for a living. He says it is not so much the severity of the weather, it is the bad driving habits of other drivers.

"People seem to slow down a little bit, as I’ve seen a lot of water flow back from their tires, and it makes it almost impossible to see 20 feet in front of you on this expressway," he said. "But other than that got no lightning. Got no thunder. So it’s not too bad but this rain is pretty crazy.”

Thelma Gamboa is driving down from Austin and she thinks people are driving worse in this weather.
