RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas (ValleyCentral) -- Tropical depression 2 is now over the Bay of Campeche with winds of 30 mph and moving northwest at 7 mph. This system is expected to become tropical storm Barry by Sunday afternoon.
The forecast track puts TD 2 (TS Barry) making landfall overnight Sunday night into Monday morning sometime after midnight. This track, or anything close to it, keeps the storm well away from the RGV.

A push of moisture and energy toward the Valley is expected to drive up the chance for rain Sunday through Tuesday. As TD 2 moves northwest it will shove tropical moisture toward Deep South Texas, increasing the chance for rain.
