Tickets for inaugural UTRGV Vaquero football game sold out

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The inaugural game of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley football game is now sold out.
 
According to the university, the game against Sul Ross State University at Vacker Stadium had a limited number of tickets that were released on Friday at 8 a.m. and sold out within 15 minutes. 
 
"It's exciting to see the immense passion from the Valley for the start of Vaqueros football," UTRGV Senior Vice President & Director of Athletics Chasse Conque said. "Division I college football in the Valley has been a long time coming. We look forward to making history together on Saturday."
 
The university added, fans without game tickets are still able to access the H-E-B Tailgate Zone, tailgate lots, and corporate sponsor tailgate area starting at 2 p.m. Saturday.
