The Marías’ latest tour announcement includes McAllen stop

Grammy-nominated band The Marías announced their tour Thursday, and they’re making a return to the Rio Grande Valley.

“The Submarine Tour (Extended)” will include 16 stops across North America, with a performance in McAllen scheduled for July 10 at the McAllen Convention Center.

McAllen’s show will also feature shoegaze group julie as a special guest.

Presale will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, and will run through 10 p.m. Thursday, April 17. General sale is scheduled for Friday, April 18.

July’s show marks The Marías’ second visit to the Valley; they previously played at Yerberia Cultura’s DREAMS festival back in March 2018.

Thursday’s tour announcement follows last week’s release of The Marías’ latest singles “Back to Me” and “Nobody New,” with the latter being a surprise b-side.

Last year, The Marías released their sophomore album “Submarine,” which featured the alt-pop hit song “No One Noticed” as the album’s third single. A few months after its May 2024 release, the song gained recognition when Billie Eilish posted an Instagram story of her singing along to the song in July.

According to Billboard, following Eilish’s share, the song saw more than a 200% gain in streams.
