BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Due to the level of interest from business leaders, The Future of Automation for the Rio Grande Valley Forum is going be expanded to more cities across the region.

The first forum, co-hosted by Rio Grande Guardian International News Service, Allied Consulting Group Texas, and Velox Global Solutions, takes place at the eBridge Center for Business & Commercialization in downtown Brownsville, today, Thursday, April 17, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The second forum, co-hosted by Rio Grande Guardian International News Service, Allied Consulting Group Texas, and South Texas College, takes place in the Student Union Building of South Texas College’s Pecan Campus in McAllen on Tuesday, April 12, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

“There is so much interest in what AI could mean for the RGV that we are taking our program on tour. After the Brownsville and McAllen events, we will be replicating them in Weslaco, Harlingen, and Rio Grande City. And after that we that we will start working with the respective chambers of commerce to take the program to even more cities,” said Steve Taylor, the Guardian’s editor and publisher.

“I am really looking forward to our kickoff event, in Brownsville, today. Andy Garcia, of Allied Consulting Group Texas, and Steve Perez, of Velox Global Solutions, are real experts on AI. Their insights are going to be fascinating.”

The forums are primarily aimed at CEOs, executives, business leaders, and public officials. The official title of the program is “Smart Cities, Smarter Economy: The Future of Automation in the Rio Grande Valley.”

“It is clear—our future depends on the decisions our region makes today. Data and AI are transforming our industries, our economies, and our communities. The time to discuss their impact is now,” said Garcia, president of Allied Consulting.

Perez, general manager of Velox, said: “We are very excited to showcase AI as the greatest wealth creator ever, leveling the playing field for all.”

The forum at STC will feature the analysis of Lyudmyla Dickinson, an assistant professor of economics at STC, Jesus Campos, dean of library and learning support at STC, and Garcia.

“Looking ahead to next Tuesday I am particularly interested to hear the analysis of Mila Dickinson. She has 20 certifications in AI, including AI in Business, AI in Marketing, Prompt Engineering, and AI Optimization,” said Taylor.
