HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Texas Music Office is inviting the community to a seminar to discuss the Texas Music Incubator Rebate Program.

The event will offer information on how venue owners and music promoters can earn grants for their music venues.

"We want venue owners and event spaces to come and learn that there is money available for them to apply for for their event spaces, so they can make it better and make the musicians feel welcome and have a place to play," said Cassandra Consiglio, Tourism Manager for the Convention and Visitors Bureau with Visit Harlingen.

Consiglio says the seminar is open to businesses in Harlingen and throughout the Rio Grande Valley.

"It's not limited to Harlingen businesses," Consiglio said. "Everybody from the Valley is invited."

Consiglio adds that the City of Harlingen will soon receive a title as a designated Texas Music Friendly City.

"It is definitely a title I think that the City of Harlingen deserves," Consiglio said. "We are a place that celebrates music and celebrates the arts in general."

The Texas Music Office is hosting the seminar from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday at the Hilton Garden Inn, 751 Harlingen Heights Dr.
