SAN BENITO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A San Benito "Cake Pop specialist" is navigating the success of her custom dessert business.

Lynette Cuellar, 19, first started her business out of her mom's kitchen when she was 16-years-old. She sold chocolate-covered treats such as marshmallow hot chocolate bombs and cake pops to her classmates and found high demand when she began posting them on Facebook marketplace.

Her business quickly escalated as she started doing custom designs ranging from Taylor Swift-themed cake pops to Hot Cheeto-flavored candy apples.

From kitchen to horse trailer to storefront, Cuellar has made a name for herself and gained recognition for her desserts.

Her business, Lynette's Creations, now has over 36 thousand combined followers across Instagram and Facebook. She makes custom orders for people across the Rio Grande Valley and has even shipped orders to states such as California and New Jersey.

Cuellar opened her San Benito location in April and she said she's considering expanding to other locations across the Valley in the future.

At 19 years old, Cuellar has faced some challenges. She said it is difficult seeing people her age with so much free time, but her passion for her business makes it all worth it.

"I really would prefer to do this than go out and do what teenagers are doing right now," Cuellar said. "I love what I do."
