Team Mario focuses on autism awareness, acceptance

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Team Mario, a non-profit focused on autism awareness and acceptance, discussed their upcoming events for Autism Awareness Month.

The main event is a 5K run on Saturday, April 5, at Edinburg Municipal Park, with an autism fair starting at 5 p.m. and a buddy walk at 7 p.m.

Registration for the 5K is closed, but the event and fair are free and open to the public.

Team Mario offers year-round events and resources, including a mental wellness program for parents called "Be Kind to Your Mind," which meets every Monday.

The organization has been active for 11 years, with the 5K being their 10th annual event.
