Teach For America Partners with PSJA ISD, welcomes new educators

ALAMO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Teach For America Rio Grande Valley welcomed over 30 new teachers to classrooms on Wednesday.

These teachers were trained through the organization's hybrid pre-service model, which includes both virtual components and in-person teaching experiences in partnership with PSJA ISD.

"At this point, just getting them comfortable in the classroom, normalizing practicing of routines, procedures, teaching the bread and butter, and just teaching in general," said Gonzalo Rodriguez, coach with Teach For America.

Their time in local classrooms this summer will offer them the opportunity to learn from veteran teachers and gain a deeper understanding of schools and students in the Rio Grande Valley.
