Suspect in Mission murder case taken into custody, police say

MISSION, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A suspect in a Mission murder case has been taken into custody, police said.

Police told ValleyCentral that one person was arrested in connection to the killing of a 25-year-old man last week.

At 8:57 p.m. April 8, police received calls of shots fired in the area of the 2500 block of W. Expressway 83 in Mission. Upon arrival, officers found a black 2020 Chevrolet Silverado that was partially parked on the curb of the 2400 block of Frontage Road. The vehicle had multiple bullet holes.

Police then found a 25-year-old man who had several gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Mission police are searching for blue older model pick-up truck with gray trimming on the bottom.

Later that week, police released a photo of a suspected vehicle, which was described as a blue older model pick-up truck with gray trimming on the bottom.

The suspect has not been publicly identified, and is expected to be arraigned Tuesday.
