Suspect in Edinburg killing to be arraigned

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The suspect in a Sunday Edinburg killing is being arraigned Monday after allegedly running over two people with his car.

Luis Antonio Garza, 26, admitted to getting into an argument with one of the victims over $100 that was owed to him.

At 4:52 p.m. Sunday, a Hidalgo County deputies responded to multiple calls regarding a disturbance.

When they arrived they found 20-year-old Edinburg resident Briseida Cobarrubias dead with injuries to her head. The second victim was identified as Jorge Galvan, 27, who sustained minor injuries and has been released from the hospital.

Garza faces charges of murder and aggravated assault.
