DONNA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — An arraignment is scheduled for the suspect in a fatal Donna shooting facing a charge of manslaughter.
Miriam Valdez, 21, is scheduled to go before Justice of the Peace Jason Pena at 3 p.m. on Monday, May 19, at the Hidalgo County Adult Detention Center on a charge of manslaughter, according to a news release from the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office.
At approximately 3:08 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, deputies responded to a shooting at a residence located at the 13000 block of Hermosa Vida Drive in rural Donna.
At the scene, deputies found the body of a 20-year-old Hispanic man inside a vehicle on the property. Authorities say the victim appeared to have suffered from a gunshot wound.
