
McAllen police on Thursday identified a 40-year-old man who they say caused a deadly May 17 crash that killed two people.
Dionicio Luna Aguirre is charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter and received a total of $600,000 bonds Thursday, according to a press release.
The crash happened at approximately 2:29 a.m. in the vicinity of North Second Street and Nolana Avenue and involved a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck and a Nissan Altima.
The driver of the Altima, Juan Carlos Perez, 54, of McAllen, was killed. Gianncarlo Corriabusto, 20, of Pasadena, Texas, who was the passenger in the Silverado, was also killed.
Aguirre was the driver of the Silverado and has been in the hospital for treatment since the crash.
