Suspect arrested in Pharr shooting, held on $2 million bond

PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A man arrested in connection with a Friday shooting that left one man dead was issued a $2,080,000 bond, Pharr city officials announced.

Fernando Sandoval was arraigned on Saturday and charged with murder and four counts of endangering a child.

At approximately 6:54 p.m. on Friday, June 6, authorities responded to the 700 block of North Erica Street regarding a shooting, according to a news release from Pharr PD.

At the scene, authorities found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. The responding officers attempted to perform emergency resuscitation procedures, but the man died from his injuries at the scene.

City officials told ValleyCentral that children were in the area at the time of the shooting, however, no injuries were reported.

Sandoval was arrested at the scene, in connection with the shooting, authorities stated. He was issued a total bond of $2,080,000.
