Stretch, not fetch: Puppy Yoga event benefits Palm Valley Animal Society

Morning stretches are better with a furry sidekick.

Palm Valley Animal Society has partnered with Yoga House to offer its Puppy Yoga Brunch Crawl fundraiser Saturday, April 26, at PVAS, 2501 W. Trenton Road in Edinburg.

The event starts with a meet and greet featuring PVAS team members and some of the adorable pups available for adoption at 9 a.m. Puppy Yoga will begin at 10 a.m., led by Yoga House and complete with playful puppies.

Brunch will round out the morning, with the option of pancakes at IHOP at 517 E. Trenton Road for a $10 ticket or pancakes with a mimosa or Bloody Mary at Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux at 415 W. Trenton Road for a $15 ticket. Tickets are available at eventbrite.com.

Additionally, adoption fees are completely waived all day for approved adopters, courtesy of Dave’s Hot Chicken.

Purchases made at local businesses will also benefit PVAS in the coming weeks, including 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, April 21, at Freddy’s Custard, 2624 Expressway 83 in McAllen; 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 25, at Jason’s Deli, 4100 N. 2nd St., Suite 100, in McAllen; and 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at Chipotle, 7300 N. 10th St. in McAllen.
