Storm prompts road closures across Valley

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — After tonight's storm, some Valley cities are advising residents to avoid the following areas due to flooding and downed power lines.

Roads with downed power lines in Donna:

The city of Donna is advising that people avoid these areas due to power lines down on the road.

• 1715 Sliver Ave
• Murphy and 493
• Lissner and 23rd
• North Ave and Main
• Val Verde and El Dora

Additionally authorities are asking for people to avoid mile 8 north of Walmart due to down trees on the road.

Flooded Areas in Edinburg:

• Veterans Blvd (Schunior to University & University to Sprague)
• 21st Ave (Kuhn to McIntyre)
• 22nd Ave (Kuhn to McIntyre)
• 4th Ave (University to Schunior)
• Joe Ochoa Ave (107 to Fay)
• 12th Ave (Mahl to Sprague)
• Van Week, Lovett, Peter (Between Veterans Blvd and 12th Ave)
• Old Closner (between Dawson St and Southridge)
