SOUTH TEXAS HEALTH SYSTEM TO HONOR SIX CITY OF MCALLEN FIREFIGHTERS AND STHS MCALLEN NURSING LEADER WITH HOMETOWN HEROES AWARD IN SURPRISE CEREMONY

The STHS Hometown Heroes awards will be distributed during a special presentation at the upcoming McAllen City Commission meeting

South Texas Health System will award its special STHS Hometown Heroes award, which is given to exceptional first responders who go above and beyond the call of duty to provide exceptional life-saving care, to six City of McAllen firefighters and an STHS McAllen nursing leader during a surprise ceremony in front of city leaders at the upcoming McAllen City Commission meeting on Monday, July 28.

Following the awards presentation, the seven individuals – who played a crucial role in ensuring a patient involved in an 18-wheeler/car accident received swift medical attention – will be recognized by City of McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos and the City Commission with a special proclamation.
