EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The South Texas Health System Children's Hospital is hosting a special expo to help parents and caregivers keep children safe from potential dangers they face in the summer months.
The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., on June 7. It aims to highlight the importance of summer safety while providing strategies to ensure a safe summer season for children and families.
"Summer should be all about fun in the sun and time outdoors during this season," says Kimberly Davis, MBA, BSN, RN, Pediatric Administrator, South Texas Health System Children's. "But the popular activities kids enjoy in the summer contribute to ample opportunities for injuries and accidents."
Additionally, the event will feature the participation of local law enforcement agencies and various safety organizations, which share the same goal of keeping children out of harm's way and the emergency room.
The Summer Expo will be taking place at the STHS Children's Main Parking Lot, located at 1102 W. Trenton Rd.
