HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — South Texas Health System (STHS) is hosting its third annual Aim for the Star Career Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 10.

According to STHS, over 200 positions across 12 facilities, including acute care, freestanding ERs, and a behavioral hospital, will be offered.

Positions range from registered nurses to behind-the-scenes roles like dietary and accounting. Attendees are encouraged to bring updated resumes for on-site critiquing and interviews.

"The best thing to do is to look at your resume, make sure that it is all up to date, that all the information is correct, and that you are selling yourself as best as possible," said Tom Castaneda, System Director of Marketing and Public Relations, South Texas Health System. "We are going to be offering resume critiquing. We'll have some members of our human resources recruitment office who are going to be taking a look at those resumes. We will also have computer stations on the spot so that you're able to make any edits and changes. The great thing about our career fair this year is that you'll be able to interview on the spot with HR recruiters, our department directors, and you may get a job offer on the spot."

Free headshots and educational resources from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and Texas A&M Valley Grande Institute will also be available.

The event takes place at the McAllen Convention Center Ballroom from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
