STC, Weslaco partner to provide in-demand training

WESLACO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — South Texas College and the city of Weslaco have partnered to provide city employees with customized heavy equipment operator training.

According to the news release, the JCB Company is providing a training site and heavy equipment in Donna.

The 64-hour course provides a combination of hands-on and lecture training that focuses on and emphasizes safety when handling bulldozers, motor graders, and excavators.

In addition, 10 hours and 14 hours, respectively, will include Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10 Construction and Forklift training.

Those who complete the course will receive certifications.
