State and federal leaders show support for SpaceX growth

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — SpaceX Starbase at Boca Chica has its share of opponents and supporters.

A list of elected officials in Austin and Washington, D.C., have shown their support for the continued growth of SpaceX at Boca Chica.

Among the supporters are Governor Greg Abbott, State Senator-elect Adam Hinojosa, and U.S. Representative Vicente Gonzalez.

Abbott wrote in his letter of support that he is pleased to support the increased number of launches and landings at the launch site. Hinojosa's letter stated that he is excited to support adding more launches from 5 a year to 25.

Additionally, Gonzalez chose to highlight the availability of jobs that SpaceX has brought to the Valley. Due to this and the economic impact, he says he is supporting the expansion.
