STARBASE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Payloads, F-skirts and splash downs, oh my! SpaceX has launched its tenth Starship rocket from Boca Chica Beach and successfully splashed down in the Indian Ocean.
Starship took off at 6:30 p.m. from the launch site, and just about two minutes later, the Raptor engines ignited for hot-staging separation.
Six minutes into the launch the Super Heavy booster splashed down in the Gulf. Simultaneously, the Starship itself was completing its ascent burn and began coasting through space.
SpaceX enthusiasts will be happy to learn that during the tenth flight, Starship deployed all eight of its simulation V3 satellites. This is the first time that Starship has successfully deployed all of its payloads.
Additionally Starship successfully ignited one of its Raptor engines while in space. At that time the F-skirt "took a hit."
An hour and six minutes into to launch, Starship splashed down in the Indian Ocean.
